The American Cheese I Grew Up Eating (and Haven't Stopped Since) | Bon  Appétit

American Cheese

Blend:
2 cups nut milk
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp miso paste
2 Tbsp nutritional yeast
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 1/2 tsp sugar

Boil for 1 minute:
1 1/3 cup water
2 1/2 Tbsp agar agar

Mix together and pour into molds.  Put in fridge.  Great at melting.  Happy eating!
