Purple Rice


Purple rice
  • 2 cups purple rice
  • 2 1/2 cups cold water
Rinse the black rice. Add cold water to the rinsed rice and place the pot on the stovetop over medium-high heat. Cover the pot with a lid and cook the rice for 15 to 20 minutes without lifting the lid. This is important to help build the proper amount of heat to cook the rice. Remove the pot from the burner, leaving the lid on the pot. Allow the covered pot to sit for an additional 10 to 15 minutes. The steam from the pot helps to finish cooking the rice.
