Ground Tofu

  • 1 package of extra firm tofu (I have learned that if you freeze and then thaw tofu this works better for drier crumbles)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp chipotle powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (or black cumin)
  • 2 Tbsp tamari
  • 1 Tbsp avacado oil (or high temp oil)


preheat oven to 350degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper

Add everything in bowl except tofu and mix

crumble tofu and add evenly coating tofu crumbles

spread evenly on sheet with parchment and bake for 30 - 35 minutes flipping halfway. You crumbles to get dark but not burn.

Use in any recipe requiring ground beef.  I use in my vegan chili!
